California has lifted its statewide restrictions on water usage, ending a 25 percent reduction rule that had applied to all residents after a roaring El Niño winter and replenished reservoirs have eased drought conditions.
State water officials said that they would now rely on Californians to use common sense and the skills they learned during the drought years to preserve local water resources.
